BLUECIRCLE, blue economy

From the theory to the practice

An Innovative Tourist Boat, first certified in responsible and circular manufacturing

With BLUECIRCLE it has been decided to take a bold step towards a new model for manufacturing leisure boats for the tourism sector; as well as a commercial management model that measures the impacts of the entire value chain, embracing environmental responsibility and climate action as a transversal principle of the blue economy.

This has allowed us to undertake a series of Milestones:

First 100% electric propulsion vessel with a real-time environmental monitoring system.

First vessel of its type to certify its life cycle analysis (LCA).

First Blue ticketing system that allows returning to the Balearic Sea the impact generated by each and every one of the end users and the nautical miles traveled.

BLUECIRCLE is the first 100% electric boat of its type in the Balearic Islands

Efficiency, innovation and

sustainable tourism

The BLUECIRCLE is a sustainable boat powered by electric energy designed for tourism in river and marine waters. It is a pioneering concept in the Balearic Islands that aims to offer a new professional boat alternative focused on a non-massified, environmentally responsible and collaborative tourism model, which allows passengers to enjoy a quality experience with high added value. .

Its main characteristics are:

Ecological propulsion

Energy and hydrodynamic efficiency

Safety and reliability

Economic viability

Manufacturing quality

Comfort on board

Ease of operation and maintenance

Adaptation to specific customer needs

BLUECIRCLE FEATURES

Innovation and ecodesign

100% Electric Propulsion

The vessel is powered entirely by electricity, marking a milestone in the transition towards sustainable and responsible navigation.

Ad Hoc Loader Installation

The Port Authority has been a key actor and a strategic facilitator in the viability of the project by installing an electric charger on the dock with the requirements and specifications for this vessel.

Energy and Hydrodynamic Efficiency

Thanks to its intelligent design, BLUE CIRCLE maximizes energy efficiency and hydrodynamics, guaranteeing lower energy consumption and greater autonomy.

Solar Energy and Lithium Ion Batteries

Solar panels and lithium-ion batteries take advantage of clean energy sources, guaranteeing sustainable operation.

Sustainable Materials

In the manufacturing of BLUE CIRCLE, sustainable materials have been used that reduce its carbon footprint and environmental impact.

Impact measurement

By measuring and reducing our impacts at each stage of the ship's life cycle, we are promoting sustainable practices in production and consumption,

Life cycle stages

The life of a product begins with the design and development of the product and ends at the end of its useful life through the following stages:

Extraction of raw materials and their transformation: activities involved in obtaining raw materials. It involves consumption and depletion of resources.

Materials process: treatment. It involves the use of heavy machinery. It involves consumption and depletion of resources.

Manufacturing: activities for transforming raw materials and manufacturing products. It involves consumption and depletion of resources.

Distribution: distribution of the product. It involves generation of waste due to packaging and packaging and fuel consumption associated with transportation.

Use in its useful life: function and usefulness of the product or service. Resources such as energy, water, fuel, etc. are consumed.

End of life and waste treatment: disassembly, separation of components and treatment. Reuse, recycling, energy or material recovery may be carried out.

BLUECIRCLE is the first tourist boat to install a real-time

impact monitoring system

SMART Monitoring

BLUECIRCLE has the latest technology in technological software and hardware thanks to the implementation of TrueWorld SMART monitoring. Its sensor system allows collecting and sharing information in real time for scientific use.

As BLUECIRCLE navigates the Bay of Palma, it collects impact data on the sea, supporting research and monitoring of the state of the Mediterranean Sea, contributing to democratized knowledge and data collection of marine ecosystems.

The objective is to offer information based on scientific data that can be consulted while sailing and to collaborate with strategic institutions linked to the care and protection of the sea.

BLUECIRCLE implements the first BlueTicketing for climate action in all its scopes

Climate Action:

BlueTicketing

BLUECIRCLE is committed to promoting climate action through its innovative Blue ticketing system. Every nautical mile traveled is linked to a verified climate action project.

We invite our passengers to participate in this initiative, which directly contributes to SDG 13 by addressing climate change and reducing carbon emissions across our reach. Science has shown that scope 3 impacts have the greatest impact on the generation of emissions.

Shared responsibility

BLUECIRCLE not only seeks to innovate in technical terms, but also to value responsible tourism experiences. We invite all stakeholders - not just our passengers - suppliers, visitors, to join us in offsetting the carbon footprint generated by each nautical mile traveled on the vessel with the ambition of being the first Climate Positive vessel. This innovation fosters awareness and commitment to climate action, while driving sustainable economic growth and a responsible blue economy.

Sustainable Development Goals

We want to promote a business model that reduces impacts and protects our ecosystems and biodiversity, but also allows fair social and economic growth of our Balearic community.

By taking action at the local level, we will contribute to global sustainable development goals.

Innovation

Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

Sustainable Production

Objective 12: Guarantee sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Climate Action

Goal 13: Adopt urgent measures to combat climate change and its effects.
